Only Petrof's most experienced employees are entrusted to hand-craft the flagship pianos of the Master Series. Each and every piano has meticulous attention to detail and it takes approximately nine months to make an instrument.
Petrof carefully selects all materials for the instruments, which are intended for concert halls and professional use. They are equipped with classical action as standard, but may at a client's request be fitted with magnetically balanced action (MBA), or Petrof's patented magnetically accelerated action (MAA).
Before being delivered to the customer, each master instrument is tested by our experienced piano players who use their vast knowledge to tune the instrument to perfection.
There are three models in the master series.
The P 284 Mistral concert grand piano is an improved, masterfully built instrument for professional use in concert halls.
Thanks to its sound potential, it is suitable for the interpretation of musically demanding pieces. It has the characteristic Petrof grand piano sound and an extremely beautiful appearance.

The P 237 Monsoon concert grand piano is suitable for music halls, recording studios, but also demanding individual players. It produces a romantic sound and can be beautiful accessory within the home or prestigious hotel.
The P 210 Pasat grand piano is a novelty in the master series. Its romantic, clear and melodious tone ranks it among the favourites of music expositions. Its sound parameters are able to splendidly amplify the feeling of the music. Its dimensions make it ideal for chamber halls, studios and the home.

The professional construction and quality of materials used provide many advantages for these grand pianos.
A very strong, CNC-machined, rim ensures long term tuning stability and regulation stability and supports the proper crown of the soundboard, which produces the precious Petrof tone. Rare Ebony wood on the inner face of the rim gives the noble appearance that is deserving of a Petrof grand piano.
The great thickness of the outer rim is one of the many advantages of Petrof´s grand pianos. It gives them strength, solidity and stability.
The rim is an original Petrof design. The inner rim is laminated and made up of 13 layers of solid beech and birch lamellas, and CNC machined for accuracy. The laminated outer rim is made of birch plywood sheets. The rim is 8.4mm thick in the Mistral and the Pasat, and 7.8mm in the Monsoon.
Each model has varying numbers of frame posts with the Mistral having seven, the Monsoon six and the Pasat 5, but in each case the last descant post is made from Lignamon, a “plasticized” wood, which helps transfer the high frequencies to the soundboard producing incredibly clear tones in the last octaves.
In the Mistral and Monsoon the wooden cross block is reinforced by a steel rail to ensure extraordinary stability.
